Joel Cranshaw, Director, (LLB, BA)
Joel has worked in the legal, technology and banking industries for 9 years.
He started his career working in fraud investigation with Ernst & Young
where he was first exposed to banking and formed an interest in information
technology.
Working with the Department of Trade and Industry and a division of the
FSA further broadened his legal and commercial experience and as in-house
counsel at Nominet UK he specialised in internet and technology dealing
with intellectual property and legal commercial issues. He has worked in
Australia as a private practice solicitor advising on intellectual property,
commercial, corporate and employment law with diverse clients including
technology companies, sports clubs, retail chains, retail banks and franchisors.
More recently he was commercial counsel for MSPG International plc, a multinational
recruitment company and general commercial counsel at UFJ International
plc; where he was responsible for technology and commercial law, information
security and data protection as well as assisting with general banking issues.
He was also involved in the merger of UFJ International plc with Mitsubishi
Securities International plc and the set up of the Capula Hedge Fund.
